Welcome to St Margaret's High School

St. Margarets Church of England High School

Choosing a secondary school for your son, that will build on his strengths and successes in primary education, is one the most important decisions you may have to make with him.

I am delighted to introduce you to St Margaret’s School and hope that you will feel that, whatever his talents, we have much to offer your son and that we may be the best choice for him to achieve his potential.

Sixth Form

St Margaret’s has a large and popular Sixth Form. Membership of the Faiths Partnership which comprises, in addition to St Margaret’s, St Hilda’s, Bellerive, Shorefields and Archbishop Blanch Sixth Forms, enable us to offer over 35 A Levels. There are also seven courses at Level 2 (GCSE equivalent) on offer.

General Studies, Critical Thinking, Personal, Social and Health Education and Citizenship form the basis of our wide ranging enrichment programme which aims to extend the experiences of our students. Guidance forms an important part of student support in the Sixth Form, and does much to support the raising of grades.

St Margaret’s boys are given first preference as applicants to the Sixth Form should they wish to continue their education within a Christian environment. Further details may be obtained from the Sixth Form Administrator.

A Successful School

St Margaret’s is a well-respected and successful school with a proven record of high academic standards taught in a caring Christian family atmosphere. The school is proud to proclaim its Technology and Language College Status and all that this brings to the raising of educational standards. We have over 85% 5 A*-C GCSEs and 98% A Level pass rate.

Advanced Computer Based Technologies

Our students benefit from access to some of the most advanced computer based technologies and are well prepared for entering the high-tech world of today and the future. Our community is enriched by a committed staff, good discipline and a wide range of extracurricular activities aimed at broadening our students’ experiences.

The school prides itself on knowing closely each individual thereby enabling us to monitor carefully the all-round development of students during their time with us.

Our success is built on the excellent partnerships developed with parents, through which, together, we can promote the kind of education that enables our students to prosper and receive the very best educational opportunities.
