Whilst the school believes in educating the whole person, a great deal of emphasis is placed on academic achievement at all levels. At the end of Year 11 the school enters boys for the General Certificate of Secondary Education. Provision is also made for boys to obtain certification through the AQA Unit Award Scheme.
All boys are given the opportunity to sit a public examination in the subjects they study in Year 11. It is not school policy to have an express stream of boys taking GCSE examinations at the end of Year 10.
A number of boys and girls go on to study 3 or 4 subjects leading to the General Certificate of Education at AS and A2. General Studies at AS and A levels are available.
The introduction of the Faiths Partnership has increased the number of courses available since September 2004. Further details are available from the Sixth Form Director.
GCSE and BTEC courses are available for boys and girls wanting to add to their qualifications in the Sixth Form and these may be combined with A Levels.
Entry Level courses are also available for Year 11 students. Provision can be made for boys and girls who wish to sit the Entrance Examination for Oxford and Cambridge and/or the Bio-Medical Admissions Test (B-MAT).
