At St Margaret´s we provide a planned programme of Careers Education and Guidance, Work Related Learning and Enterprise Education. This is developed in PSHE lessons, subject lessons, presentations and events. We work in close partnership with Greater Merseyside Connexions and Liverpool Compact to provide accurate careers guidance and relevant work related experiences.
The Careers Library has up to date information on a range of careers and courses available to students when they leave school. A vast array of information is also available on the computer network system. We offer guidance and support for students when choosing their options and making decisions about their future careers. We prepare our students for the world of work through activities such as writing job applications, participating in employability interviews and attending work experience.
Enterprise Education aims to develop innovation, creativity, and a can-do attitude. This has been reflected in our Streets of Culture computer game project which will feature in an ‘Inspirations´ television programme later this year. Our overall aim is to prepare our students for the challenges they may face when they leave St Margaret´s.
The school has excellent relationships with other institutions and the business community through its technology college status, which have contributed to the curriculum and learning developments across the school.
